These basic procedures take a lot of the guesswork out of delivering requests or directions to students. The more intentional (see also: precise) we can be with our requests, the more consistently students will comply.
This tool has plenty of research to support its use but tends to get overlooked by it’s simplicity. Don’t be fooled, this tool is actually a very effective tool and can help educators and parents address non-compliance, off-task behavior, and work completion.
